Appointments
Do not assume that by emailing us for an appointment that you have one booked. You need to hear back from us.
Appointments are available on Mondays and Saturdays only. Appointments are booked on the hour and on the half-hour.
When booking an appointment, please specify the work you need to complete
e.g. basic maintenance, improved brake performance, flat tire, fender installation
Appointments can only be booked between 11:00am & 4:30pm (Mondays) 12:00 & 4:30pm (Saturdays). 4:30pm is our last available spot, and we close at 5:00pm. Please only book work that takes 30 minutes if you are booking this spot.
Appointments can be for 30 or 60 minutes only. If work can not be completed during your appointment, extending your appointment is at the discretion of Bikechain staff. You may re-book or come back during drop-in hours.
Bikechain can not store your bicycle.
If you do not know the work needed, or the extent of work needed, then ask for an assessment. We will try to give you an estimate of time for the work needing to be done
Guidelines
Appointments are provided principally for basic maintenance (clean & lubricate chain, inflate tires) and small repairs and adjustments.
Most repairs will take longer than you think, basic maintenance will lilkely only take 30 minutes.
If you are not sure of the work to be done, please book an appointment for an initial assessment, this will take one hour and will allow some work to be done.
If you need to do a lot of work, prioritize the work you want to complete and be prepared to come back to finish everything.
If you are booking an appointment for a larger job (e.g. bottom bracket overhaul, wheel build), please let us know if you are able to complete this work on your own. Generally the appointment days are not staffed by our most experienced mechanics.
